RE: Who will win the 1st Ice Race??

I guess I can't really make a prediction on who will win in Beausejour, but I do predict some rather close and great racing. Look to be at least 18 Pro Champ sleds, and at least another 8 running in the Semi-Pro Champ Class. If you put me on the spot, I guess I would go with the older fellow with the receding hairline to win it all on Sunday. Can't remember his name now, but he used to drive the # 47 RXL looking Polaris in Champ class. Damn I wish I could remember his name. See ya all at the CPTC in a couple of weeks and let the fun begin!!

RE: The anti-sledders have won.

Mainecat I hope your right when you say we all won last night. I on the other hand think the new President elect will be telling us in 3 1/2 years he hasn't had enough time to have his solutions work for us. In other words put the old blame game on George Bush and say he needs another four years to make his solutions work for us.

RE: The Future of the Champ Class?

Darcy is correct and I can live with what Jeff was proposing. Now some of you make it sound like he's talking a stock 600 and in stock trim. He isn't and if we're going to a stock 600 to replace champ class you can leave me out. If the motor can't be mod and if it can't have at least one tuned pipe oval ice racing doesn't interest me. Remember thats MY opinion and nobody elses, if everyone else differs with me thats fine. I can always take up ice fishing in the winters. A stock 600 will run with some of the champs now, but believe me they won't beat the elite champs that ran say last year. Truthfully it would be nice to see someone drop one in for the race on Saturday in Beausejour and see how it pans out.

RE: The Future of the Champ Class?

Jeff I'll think about what you proposed and talk to you in a month in Beausejour. Yamaha has no direct involvement in Oval Sprint Racing at this time, but I do know they had much to say about how the new Formula 600 rules were wrote in the new ISR book. Makes me think they have ideas of getting involved in the 2010-2011 season. The biggest advantage the 600's have now is the pull out of the corners over the 440s. Some of the things you talked about would even things out some, but I just have to think about it a little more.

RE: Pro-Ice Scoring and Points Change?

I'm willing to go with what ever Wally,Nick, and Matt come up with for points for the coming year. In the future this kind of thing should maybe decided at the banquet and rules meeting in the spring. Let the racers vote on it and what ever wins is the way its going to be. Plain and simple. By the way our sled is completely ready and we're just waiting for cooler weather for some testing. The sled looks to be between scary and freeking fast, so I'll just say its going to be wicked fast. Hope its as fast as it looks. lol

Happy Birthday Mr. Villeneuve

I'm getting old and don't know if I can stay up till mid night, so I'm going to say Happy Birthday early. Happy Birthday #96, if my memory serves me correctly you should be 55 on November 4th. Looking forward to seeing you in Beausejour in about a month. I have a picture I would like you to sign, its from when you drove the Kawasaki Sno Pro sled and your with Bunke and Schubitzke by your Kawi 440 sled. Those leathers with the bell bottoms still look cool to this day!!

RE: Pro-Ice Scoring and Points Change?

I like what Wally is proposing, it will keep the points chase closer and more of a true points champion at the year end. I'm not really in favor of having a double points race, unless it's decided before the race season begins. I think we will have one of the largest Pro Champ fields since the class originated and should make for some great racing this winter. By the way how many of you will be ready for the first race in Beausejour? Its coming up fast

RE: Condolences

Our thoughts and prayers go out the the Bucholz family at this time. They're truthfully some of the first folks we met, when we traveled to race in Eagle River many years ago.

RE: 2009 Champ 440 Questions

Jacques see you in Beausejour in December, come a couple days early and get some testing in. Find any more horse power in your 440 engine over the summer? I'm all for the new tail light rule, but I really don't know if it would have saved you from getting hit last year. The snow dust was extremely heavy and it's always worse at night. I saw you raise your arm as your motor went down and really didn't see Gokey until a foot before impact. By the way how is your body feelin these days?

RE: 2009 Champ 440 Questions

Six more Champs over last years numbers in Eagle River. P.J. and Corey will have Hooper engines in their sleds and most likely the old engines and not the lay down engine. I think it will be a Polaris powered sled to win Eagle River this year, as to who wins it I think its to early to tell!! Tail lights must be powered by a battery for Formula 600 class, not Champ 440 but I'm sure most champs will have the new Tail light too.

RE: EPT's New Junior Class

Wayne, I would check again with Marcel, I don't see anywhere in the rules that state you have to be 18 years old.

RE: New Arctic Cat Racer?

I think my spys are correct, Corey will be running an arctic prepped engine this winter. My spys say I'm wrong with the LRM engine builder, they seem to think more like the engine builder is from the east coast. I guess we'll just have to wait for an announcement from someone, hopefully soon!!

RE: New Arctic Cat Racer?

Doug, my guess is Corey is the new Arctic driver and I'm thinking a modified LRM Suzuki powering his sled this winter. Most likely LRM pipes and set of Olav's to for the first race in Beausejour. Just a guess tho. If its true it's good for ovals as we need a few different colors on the starting line.

RE: New Arctic Cat Racer?

Corey if my memory serves me correct, wasn't your number going to be #77 with Hogland racing this year. Your not the new mystery cat driver are you? You can tell Spy!!

RE: f500

Ben if you have Scott Clark in your trailer, you should have a great year racing. He's a great racer and can set up a sled to race on ice like know one else. I'll look you guys up in Eagle River in January.

RE: New Arctic Cat Racer?

# 007 is the number of Dan Gokey, he has raced champ sleds before and used Arctic engines in the past. If nothing out of the ordinary happens in the next couple of weeks the #99 champ sled will start out the season as a lime green sled and see where it goes from there.

Question on New ISR Book

When reading the new book it looks to me that in Champ 440 you can use the same tail light system as in the past. In Formula 600 it says we need a working tail light even when the motor is not running. All I'm asking is that correct or do they expect the same in Champ 440?

RE: Have you checked out....

Benoy your not a bad writer either, I'll get your autogragh in Beausejour in December. Good Luck this winter with the Champ sled, it's a challenge for sure but you seem like a guy that likes challenges!!Congratulations to your team on your water effort this summer.
